broken piece of my heart ,
Friday sighed, looking over at Cass as if something about their situation might change. She wasn't really much up for babysitting, but, despite how much they fought, she knew in the end she'd probably tag along with Cass for pretty much anything. It felt weird to get on so well with another girl, but despite everything that had happened the girl was there.. she had little to no doubt they were friends. Fucked up pals, sure, but it worked. No matter how many times the younger girl told her to fuck off, she still dragged her everywhere she went, and age wasn't really that big of a difference because Friday was internally five years old, as she continued to say every time someone asked her about her maturity.
Anyway, for the most part she was good with kids because of this mentality, and obviously Cass was going to have trouble being around the little thing. The other's childhood had gone with a series of deaths that left her emotionally crippled, and the one who brought those feelings back died.. plus she ruined her sweater, which really made Fri feel like a shithead because it didn't even cross her mind that might be the case.
They stood now in Kostas's kitchen, their eyes trained on the petite figure across the counter from them, waiting for something slightly climatic to happen. Fifty dollars an hour.. it was like a dream come true. For the most part, the little girl seemed like she was happy enough, she danced around the kitchen like a butterfly. Friday giggled, nudging Cass lightly with her elbow and raising an eyebrow. “Hey kiddo.. what do you want to do?” she questioned, wiggling her hips and turning on the stereo underneath the cabinets. “I think I heard your dad say there's brownies in here..” she commented, crossing to peek inside the pantry with one eye squinted.
The song switched to something more upbeat, and Friday bounced in her hips a little bit before grinning at the little girl, her eyes shifting to Cass's for a second before returning to train on the small figure in front of her. “My brother went to visit Spain once, and he brought home a friend.. a dance teacher, yeah? She taught me meringue and salsa.. I could teach you if you'd like.” she grinned like a five year old before snapping in a rhythmic manner, body shifting to the beat of the music before she paused, hand on her hip and eyebrow cocked as if to say What do you think, mate?
