CHARACTER BACKGROUND
physical appearance
When Adelaide was born, she was a red head. People would be surprised to know this, seeing as her hair now is so blond and has been for so long it seems natural for her. However, as she got older, her hair became more of a strawberry blond color, but never seemed to go fully blond until she actually dyed it so with peroxide back in high school. After that, it became her trademark along with her 'see-all' blue eyes and pearly white skin. She has the typical, classic Hollywood looks.
clothing style,
For her clothing, she tends to stick to the fashionable side. She is always up to date in fashion, for women a bit younger than her, and always looks classy and clean. She loves dressing up in evening gowns and wearing heels and simply making all the heads turn and face her in the room, whether it is for her looks or for her clothing. She doesn't wear provocative clothing, though someone might think she would...She leaves that for the bedroom.
personality,
Adelaide is, and can be, very sweet and caring. She does think about others but, as of late, she has been a bit on the selfish side. She can be pushy, rude, and sarcastic whenever she wants to be and tends to know exactly what to say and do to push peoples buttons. Though she may sometimes come off as heartless, she usually does so whenever she doesn't want to seem vulnerable. She mostly keeps things to herself and doesn't like her private life advertised for the world to see.

BACKGROUND
BACKGROUND
history,
She was the youngest of two children. Spoiled, just like any child of her social status, Adelaide was known for being very...rude while growing up. She tended to treat nannies very badly, having them fired after only one week of service. It was known that Adelaide would grow up to be a feisty little firecracker and indeed, they were partially right. Having red hair did not help when she began school. At first she was picked on and at home, her father practically ignored her fully because she did not have the same hair color as her brother, mother, and himself. By the time she was twelve, however, her hair had turned a beautiful strawberry blond, though bits of red were still visible in the sun. It didn't, though, stop her father from being pushed over the edge with her rebellious nature.
Her imperfections angered her father and with her mother not being the most caring person in the world, simply let whatever he did to her happen. He would rape Adelaide repeatedly, up until highschool when she started disappearing for weeks at a time, simply grabbing money from the bank and going off to different countries. She went to highschool in France and there she seemed to become popular, along with her older brother. Her sophomore year, she practically dipped her head i peroxide and from then on was known for the trademark bleach blond hair. People seemed to notice her, and she was loving the positive attention. She was known for being a heavy partier, yet able to keep her grades as an advanced student, and was well known for...having her fair share of people warm her bed-male or female.
In many ways, it was her version of rebelling against the life her parents were forcing upon her. She didn't like being a socialite and, because her parents wouldn't approve, she dove into modeling right before the end of her highschool days. She was eventually put into an arranged marriage with the son of the Adler family. Of course, she rebelled, by running away and having the wedding date pushed back further and further. She found it unfair that her brother was able to chose anyone he wanted and she had to marry Alexander, whom she barely knew throughout highschool. However, her parents eventually caught her in a photo shoot in Hawaii and dragged her back to Germany where she was married to Alexander.
Despite the fact she knew very little about him, she did start to fall for him. Their first years of marriage were like bliss and she wouldn't trade it for the world. She was happy when she was pregnant with her children, but she longed not to be tied dow to a house and a family. She loved both lives, that of her modeling and partying ways, and then that of her family. But with the birth of her fourth and last child, things became sour. She saw less and less of her husband, and she knew of his doings to her oldest daughter, Lillian. And with the death of her older brother, Adelaide slowly slipped into a depression. She would buy herself anti-depressants and pretend like nothing was wrong but seeing the pictures of her husband with other women in magazines in very close contact...She started to argue with him more, about anything simple, and started drinking a little more and more...
Her desire to go back to everything before being tied down before she was ready started catching up with her and she was finding herself doing anything to go back to that. She finally ended up breaking down, though when she did, it was someone she didn't expect. Christof Flood, the father of her daughter Maria's fiancee, was there to give her a shoulder to lean on when she felt she couldn't take the pressure of being a socialite-something she truly and deeply never wanted. She missed her brother and regretted not taking in his children because she felt she was unfit to help raising them and didn't want to be reminded of him. The same night she broke down to him was the same night she had the affair...
And though she thought she was happy having an affair from then on, she wasn't. The truth was, she was happy with the sneaking around...it was, again, her way of rebelling against the life she never wanted. Rebelling against the fact that she can never do everything she always wanted to do or be successful the way she wanted to be successful. She hasn't seen Christof since her oldest children graduated, but he continues to call her cellphone frequently. Adelaide has been trying to fix her marriage, but she still has that anxiety building up inside her...She wants to break away...But she knows she can't.
